Through this process, anxiety can be transformed into a source of strength, allowing you to experience more joy, connection, and resilience.

Depression affects every aspect of life. Approach and Methods

Integrative Therapy

I use an integrative approach, drawing from various therapy methods to tailor our sessions to your unique needs. My goal is to meet you where you are and help you move towards where you want to be.

Cultural Humility

Your cultural background is an important part of who you are, and I’m dedicated to honouring it in our work together. Identities are shaped by personal and family experiences, along with factors like race, gender, and economic status. By recognizing these influences, I strive to create a counselling space that values your lived experience.

Harm Reduction

If you’re dealing with substance use, my harm reduction approach focuses on minimizing the negative effects and finding coping strategies that support the need that you are trying to fulfill. I’m here to support you without judgment.

Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP)

AEDP is an approach that focuses on healing emotional pain by fostering a strong, supportive relationship between therapist and client. It helps you access and process deep emotions, leading to transformation and growth. AEDP emphasizes safety, connection, and the natural capacity for healing.

Attachment Theory

Understanding attachment styles can provide valuable insights into your relationships and emotional patterns. We’ll explore how your early experiences shape your current behavior and work to expand your skill set so that you can respond intentionally to yourself and others.

Emotionally-Focused Therapy (EFT)

EFT helps you connect with and understand your emotions in a deeper way. I use EFT to help you explore and process your feelings, identify emotional patterns, and build stronger, more meaningful connections with yourself and others.

Internal Family Systems (IFS)

IFS explores the different parts of yourself and how they influence your emotions and behaviors. We’ll work together to identify and understand these parts, each with their own role and perspective. By exploring these parts and working to harmonize them, we aim to create a more balanced and cohesive internal family, leading to greater self-awareness and emotional well-being.

Neuroscience

Drawing from my nursing background, I incorporate a critical lens of neuroscience to better understand your brain’s role in your emotions and behaviors. Together, we can see how current research can inform and enhance your therapeutic journey.
